Cosplay for me is a free space to be just as creative as you want. You can follow strict rules for a competition, or throw caution to the wind and just do what makes you happy. It's an amazing hobby that connects so many people.
I got started in 2006, when my best friend in school was going to this "Japan event" in Valby and she knew I liked Japan, so she asked me to join. I agreed, and then she mentioned having been there a year before, that you needed to wear a costume to be cool, so that was my first J-Popcon and cosplay experience, and I have been loving it ever since!

Qualifying to be Team Sweden 2019 for WCS with my now wife. It was an amazing trip and I got to meet lifelong firneds there - and proposed to the love of my life after the event, so that's pretty magical after all. :)
Yes I have! I have gone almost every year since 2006, and it really is such a wonderful convention. I am always so excited to see the Artist Alley, and of course the amazing cosplayshow. Every time it blows me away and gives me such inspiration. I cannot wait to see what this year will bring!
