Bootlegs

Under no circumstances does J-Popkai accept fake goods (from now on referred to as “bootleg”)

If you see anything you consider to be a bootleg in the Dealer Room, Game Room, or any other place at the convention, please contact the reception immediately. Do not confront the dealer on your own.

J-Popkai has a three-strikes policy for dealers bringing bootlegs to the convention:

First strike: The dealer is asked to remove the goods that have been identified as bootleg. If the dealer declines, they will be asked to leave the convention. The dealer will not be refunded the money they have paid in advance for the booth, but they will not be blacklisted.

Second strike: The goods that have been identified as bootleg is confiscated by organisers. If the dealer declines, they are asked to leave the convention. The dealer will not be refunded the money they have paid in advance for the booth, but they will not be blacklisted.

Third strike: The dealer is expelled from the convention and blacklisted. They will no longer be welcome at J-Popcon or any other event organised by J-Popkai. At the same time, other Danish conventions will be notified about J-Popkai’s decision and it will be published on J-Popcon’s website. The dealer will not be refunded the money they have paid in advance for the booth.

A strike expires after J-Popcon has been organised three times. The dealers can be removed from the blacklist after a minimum of three years, and only after a signed agreement about them not bringing bootlegs has been given to J-Popkai. A breach of this agreement will circumvent the three-strikes system and result that the dealer is immediately blacklisted and loses the prepayment of the booth according to the agreement agreed to between the dealer and J-Popkai for them to being removed from the blacklist.

Any J-Popkai organiser has the right to issue strikes to dealers as well as ask for a product to be removed. Their decision can be invalidated by the Sales leader or J-Popkai’s chairman. Dealers can only be askes to leave the convention by the Sales leader or J-Popkai’s chairman, and they cannot be added to the blacklist without the accept of at least one of these.

This policy holds from the 1st of January 2015.
