Hard edged science fiction film from the director of The Host

The year is 2031. A climate-experiment has failed and a new ice age threatens the human race's survival. A selected few has managed to survive aboard a high-tech train that's in constant motion - if the engine is turned off, they all die!

There are strong class differences on the train, the rich lives in luxury in the front carriages, while the poor starve in the rear. The unequal relationship makes way for a rebellion, and as the train rushes through the frozen world, the tension mounts and the final confrontation is on the horizon.

Snowpiercer is based on a classic French comic book/graphic novel from 1984 by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, and has obvious parallels to George Orwell's best-known novels, 1984 and Animal Farm.

The film is a critically acclaimed science fiction dystopia with violent images, brutal action and a fast pace. The film is directed and written by Bong Joon-ho, the director behind the award-winning Mother and the Korean The Host, and has - among others, Chris Evans, Ed Harris, John Hurt and the lead actor from The Host and Old Boy, Song Kang-ho in the cast.

The film is released in Denmark on Blu-ray and DVD October 23. Age restriction in Denmark is 15. The Red band trailer is R rated in the US.
