Ten years.
Cosplay is having the ability to meet so many different people from all over the world who share a passion for being creative. Never have I been part of a community that is so welcoming and fun and creative. The majority of my friends I have gained through cosplay, and they are all amazing!
I started ten years ago with some high school friends, we all agreed to cosplay from Yu-Gi-OH! And we spent weeks putting together our costumes from cardboard, craft foam and paper mache! We were so proud of ourselves, and since then I've never stopped!

It isn't just one specific experience but the feeling of a cosplay group coming together! When you and your friends have been working so hard on making your costumes and you've only seen their progress online and finally it's the day of the convention. Everyone in the group arrives one by one, and it's all coming together just as we imagined so many months ago!
My first solo trip was actually to Copenhagen when I was 16, and I absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, so I'm honoured to be able to return! However this will be my first J-Popcon, and I've heard all the best things about the show and I cannot wait to witness myself in person!
