Even if you're already on a first name with the characters from the manga series "Highschool of the Dead" or just wildly interested in Japan, please visit 'Nationalmuseet' when it turns into a celebration of Japanese popculture on Friday March 7.

The museum is extraordinary open from 18:00 to 21:00, and allows you to experience a number of aspects of the unique Japanese pop culture, with all that implies in terms of self-presentation and selfies.

The evening offers among other things, two cosplay shows, where you can watch Danish cosplayers perform. The word "cosplay" is short for "costume" and "play" and is a very special Japanese popculture phenomenon. Cosplay is about dressing up as cartoon characters or characters from your favorite games and acting out scenes from the manga and anime universe. Many cosplayers sew their own costumes, which are often lavish and complete in every detail. Everyone is welcome to visit the event, wearing his own costume - even if it is homemade or not.

You can also experience two presentations. In one a cosplayer gives an insight into the creative subculture in Denmark and the second presentation is a conversation with two bloggers, who talk about Japanese ideals of beauty and self-promotion on the basis of the Japanese Purikura photobooth, that you can see and try in the exhibition "The Girl With Parasol - Japan in the photo studio".

Here you can perpetuate yourself in true Japanese selfie style, and get the free Purikura sticker pictures.

Free admission. With opportunity to purchase food and drink.
